Kokanee is a red tri-colored Australian Shepherd with bright blue eyes and rich copper points. Kokanee is an incredible dog with a very gentle and loving demeanor. She has a high drive and desire to work but is a medium energy level dog. She has completed obedience class and has participated in barn hunt, agility, and fastCAT. Kokanee has also started training in shed (antler) hunting as well as scent work for flushing game birds.
Kokanee loves to be on the trails in the mountains. When she isn’t chasing chipmunks, you can expect Kokanee to be leading the way at the front of the pack. She conquers obstacles and water crossings without fear. Her strength and tough nature make her the perfect adventure companion. Even though she is a very active and intelligent dog, Kokanee settles in the home without being asked and loves to sit on your lap or lay next to you. She has the perfect temperament for an adventure companion and fits in well within a family unit.
Health Testing
Kokanee has been genetically tested through Embark as well as PawPrint Genetics. She has passed her OFA CAER (yearly), elbows, and hips exams with wonderful results. She has also been tested through PennHIP and received passing scores.
Kokanee is clear on the Australian Shepherd panel on Embark and PawPrint genetics.

“Flora”
River Runs Backcountry Babe
Flora is our keeper puppy from Kokanee x Rocky 2024. She is a red factored blue merle with two blue eyes. Flora is our upcoming breeding female pending her health testing results.
Flora has a higher energy than her mom Kokanee and always tries her best to please. Flora has competed in barn hunt and fastCAT. She has also played on one of the frisbee leagues here in Idaho. Flora is very ambitious and is eager to learn. I love to train with Flora because of her biddability. She has matured nicely physically and is coming into herself mentally as well.
