Puppy Raising and Health

All of our puppies will come raised on Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), and Puppy Culture. They will be exposed to new sights, sounds, smells, and textures while they are in our home. Puppies will be on a deworming schedule, have their first vaccinations, be microchipped, and have a health clearance from a veterinarian before going to their new homes. All of our puppies will keep their natural tails and dewclaws. No matter the gender, coat color, or eye color, all of our puppies will be priced the same.

Over the course of 7 weeks, we will discuss with potential buyers the temperaments and personalities of the puppies. Once they have officially been temperament tested at 7 weeks of age, we will go through the list and match a puppy with each family. This makes sure that puppies are not simply chosen because of their looks. They are intentionally placed in homes that will suit them best. Puppies will be ready to go home after they are 8 weeks old.

Puppy Pricing

The total price for a puppy from River Run Australian Shepherds is $2,000. If you are interested in a puppy, please fill out your name and email below so that we can send you a puppy application. After we have received your application, we will contact you to let you know if the application has been accepted or denied. When puppies are born, we ask for a nonrefundable $250 holding fee. This will keep your name on the list for the current litter. Around 7 weeks old, after temperament testing, we will match a puppy with you and ask for another $250. The remaining balance of $1,500 is due before the day of pick up at 8 weeks old.

You will not be allowed to pick up your puppy until we have received the complete payment. In addition to this, if at any time you can no longer keep your puppy, they are to be returned to the breeder no matter what their age is. There is no refund with the return of a puppy. We do not want any of our puppies to end up in a puppy mill, shelter, rescue, hoarder, abusive situation, or anything related to this list. We are happy to reevaluate the puppy or dog to find them another home. Puppy contracts upon time of the first deposit and before pickup will be shared with puppy buyers.

Puppy Application Request

We ask that you complete the application in complete honesty. Do not assume that because you don’t have a fenced yard it will automatically lead us to deny your application. We are happy to work with you and we will be sure to reach out if we have any questions or concerns.

Puppy Pick Up

We are located in central Idaho. If you cannot drive to us when puppies are ready to go home, we are sometimes able to arrange puppy pick-ups in the Boise, Sun Valley, Salmon, and Twin Falls areas. We will not ship puppies. If you plan to fly your puppy home, please let us know as soon as possible. We will have you send an airline approved in cabin carrier to us so that we can introduce them to it before the day of the flight.
